Backflow Preventer Installation

New construction, an unrepairable device, an updated purveyor requirement, or an unprotected fire or irrigation line all call for a properly sized, code-compliant assembly. We install RP, DC, and PVB devices under our C-36 license and certify the work.

When Installation Is the Right Call

Replacement is the correct path when a device has failed repair, when parts are no longer available, or when a water purveyor updates its cross-connection control requirements and the existing assembly no longer meets code. New installs are also common on new construction, fire service lines, irrigation systems, and any point where a potable water line connects to a source of potential contamination.

SIZING & CODE COMPLIANCE

What Our Backflow Installation Service Covers

Hazard-Matched Sizing

Device type and size are matched to the hazard classification and flow demand of the connection before we order equipment.

Code-Compliant Placement

Installation follows California Plumbing Code clearance, elevation, and orientation requirements.

Fire, Irrigation & Domestic Lines

We install assemblies on fire service lines, irrigation systems, and domestic service connections.

Enclosure & Freeze Protection

Enclosure and freeze or flood protection are planned into the installation where the site calls for it.

Purveyor Permitting

We handle permits, device approval, and advance notice with your water purveyor so the installation is accepted the first time.

Initial Certification

Our ABPA-certified testers perform the initial certification test and submit passing results so the assembly is active on the purveyor’s record.

FAQ

Common Questions

How do you determine what size and type of device I need?

We evaluate the hazard classification of the connection, expected flow demand, and your local purveyor’s specific requirements before recommending a device.

What does a backflow installation cost?

Cost depends on device size, type, and site conditions such as enclosure or protection needs. Call (858) 523-8113 for a quote scoped to your project.

Do you handle the permit and purveyor approval?

Yes. We coordinate permits, device approval, and any advance notice directly with your water purveyor so the installation is accepted the first time.

Is the new device certified and on record right away?

Yes. Our ABPA-certified testers perform the initial certification test at install and submit passing results so the assembly is active in the purveyor’s system, not just physically installed.
