California law requires every backflow preventer to be tested annually to ensure it is protecting the city water supply. Our ABPA-certified testers perform the test on site, complete purveyor-ready paperwork, and submit passing results directly to your water purveyor.
A backflow preventer is a device designed to keep water from flowing in an undesired direction, protecting the main water supply from contaminants. California plumbing codes require them, and purveyors require an annual test to confirm each assembly only allows flow in one direction.
There are four main types: Reduced Pressure Principle (RP) assemblies, Double Check Valve (DC) assemblies, Pressure Vacuum Breakers (PVB), and Spill-Resistant Vacuum Breakers (SVB). Our testers are certified on every style.

Full differential-pressure test on RP, DC, PVB, and SVB assemblies, performed to the standard your purveyor requires.
Every test is performed by a tester certified by the American Backflow Prevention Association — the gold standard recognized across California.
Passing results are submitted directly to the city or water purveyor, with a copy provided for your records.
If a device fails, we document the exact failure mode on the report so the repair addresses the actual problem.
Our trucks carry common rebuild kits, so most failed devices can be repaired and retested in the same visit.
We track your test date and see you again next year, so compliance never lapses.
Every job is performed under C-36 Contractor License #1117687 and DPR License #140023, backed by the credentials California requires.
Bacteriological and water-quality samples are processed through our state-certified laboratory partner, giving purveyors results they accept without question.
Every report is formatted for direct submission to your water purveyor or inspecting agency, with same-day turnaround whenever lab results allow.
Plumbing, chlorination, and backflow work are handled by the same crew in one visit, so you are not coordinating three separate contractors.
We’ll ask a couple of questions about the backflow preventer in question and set up a time that’s convenient for you.
We arrive at the scheduled time, perform the test, and give you a copy of the results on the spot.
Based on what we find, the device gets a passing grade or we arrange repairs — often completed the same visit.
We send the results to the city, and we’ll see you again next year.
Annually, per California law and nearly every water purveyor. Some purveyors and hazard classes require more frequent testing, which we can confirm for your address.
Pricing depends on device size and count. Call (858) 523-8113 for a quote — multi-device and contracted-customer pricing available.
We document the failure mode, and in most cases repair and retest the device in the same visit. If it cannot be repaired economically, we quote a replacement instead.
Yes. Passing results go directly to the purveyor of record, and you receive a copy for your files.
