Waterline Chlorination Service
New and repaired potable water mains and service lines must be disinfected before they are placed into service. We chlorinate to specification, hold for the required contact time, dechlorinate, flush, and coordinate lab sampling so the line is cleared for purveyor acceptance.
How We Disinfect a New or Repaired Waterline
Any new water main, service lateral, or repaired section of existing pipe must be disinfected before it is placed back into service. We isolate the section, introduce chlorine to the concentration specified by AWWA C651, and hold for the required contact time so the entire interior surface is treated.
Once the hold time is met, we dechlorinate to neutralize residual before discharge, flush the line with potable water, and coordinate bacteriological sampling through our state-certified laboratory partner so the purveyor has everything needed to clear the line for service.
